speaking of travelling…take a look at photography.
and whats this? The American Look?

I watched Wicked the other day. Awesome show. I just love how it makes use of existing Wizard of Oz lore to wrap its own story around. so its not an adaptation of Oz per se, but rather an alternative perspective that fits in extremely well with existing story lines and the “feel” of Oz! granted, Wicked: the musical is itself an adaptation of Wicked: the book. but having not read the book myself, all i have to go by is the musical, which has a very tight feel to the storyline that works very well with what it is trying to do. great special effects as well.
I would love to deconstruct the themes of the show (namely the nature of good and evil), as well as the actual story itself with you guys, but i don’t want to give too much of it away. But i will say it is an extremely thought provoking piece on perspectives, the power of propaganda and “public consensus” and, of course, right and wrong.
If you’ve watched it, please do leave your thoughts!
My friend and I saw it on the first night, technically the second show. We were totally overwhelmed. It was awesome! It was the first time seeing it for my friend, but I already had some exposure through a leaked videorecording of the show in the U.S. (which I know is not the same thing, but they had Kristin Chenoweth!). That was like two years ago. When I heard they were putting together a Melbourne cast, I was ecstatic. Another friend of mine has since seen it twice, but I don’t think I could. Somehow it isn’t quite the same as the first time and I want to secure that impression. What are your thoughts on seeing something like that twice?
