since he’s back in the country right now I asked Mr WSY 2 words:
Ma laysian elections?
Good? Bad? Don’t Care?
his answer
slightly tend towards ‘dun care’..
but the people who are over-confident that they will win did not win as much as they expected. So i guess msia will soon undergo revolution as there are more smart people in the [government] now.
Corruption was the biggest problem.
I’ve always stayed in “democractic” countries, so it didn’t really hit me until recently : i’ve never actually voted in my life!
the only country i’m legally allowed to vote, i know almost jack shit about.
what i do know is the usual rule with asian politics: who ever is in power, vote for the other guy.
while that is socially irresponsible (to vote blindly), i don’t’ think its necessarily wrong.
I’ll just be glad when they get rid of that official state policy of racial discrimination. I think its quite obvious by now that whatever they were trying to achieve through that not only didn’t work, but probably pushed the country backwards another 50 years. I think alot of smart, enthusiastic, capable people would gladly go back and start kicking ass if it wasn’t specifically made to be that much more difficult for them to do so.
How very true.
It is even more sad to see leaders of these discriminated races be blinded by money, be so corrupt that even they discriminate against their own.
Blah.
if only they were that smart.
